Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, Syria’s Ambassador to the United Nations has given a press conference confirming that the Syrian Arab Republic has issued visas for OPCW inspectors and has pledged Syria’s full cooperation in the forthcoming investigation into an alleged fabricated chemical attack in the Damascus suburb of Douma. Russian investigators have already stated that there is no reason to believe that any attack even occurred in Douma.
This comes shortly after US Defense Secretary James “Mad Dog” Mattis told the US Congress that the US has no evidence of a chemical attack and had based its assumptions on social media and video reports rather than official sources.
The Ambassador also criticised European states, particularly Britain for goading what he called the “US elephant” into “failed bellicose adventures”. The entire press conference can be viewed below.
